A return hike to Monument Peak to document a survey mark that I missed last weekend and a chance to do some needed trail maintenance.

Most of my survey mark recoveries are on hikes, these are the ones that are just 'along the road'. I call them my 'Drive-By' 🚙 recoveries.

All that remains of the three USGS survey markers on set on Big Black Mountain are the brass stems left in the bedrock. Vandalism sucks 😡

Truly a Marathon! 26.87 miles, two peaks, and the third in my SoCal Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge. Sun, snow, hail, and rain, we had it all!

Peak #5 in the SD6POP Challenge and the 3rd time I've hiked Hot Springs Mountain. It was a beautiful day with lots of snow on the trail!

The second day of the New Year and my second peak in the San Diego Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge! El Cajon Mountain is always a great hike!
